Attendees: Joe Kovacs, Suzette Nephew, Rick Perry, Sherry King, Dan Heath, Ann Hawksby, Matt Ray, Tom Lavin, Donna Ferguson, Chris Dominianni, Lindamarie Hill

Meeting called to order at 8:45 A.M. by Chris Dominianni.

The Minutes were accepted by Lindamarie Hill.

Introductions were made: Joe Kovacs of “A Different Blend”, Suzette Nephew of Champlain National Bank, Matt Ray of “Livingoods”, who served as host of the meeting.

Matt Ray shared that his staff was donating half of their tips for a specified period to the FItpatrick Cancer Center in the holiday spirit. The restaurant, Livingoods was putting in $.50 on every dollar raised.

The treasurer’s report stated no further activity, with a $876.42 balance.

Rick Perry was introduced to speak about the magnitude and impact of the various fishing tournaments that are being hosted by Plattsburgh. The city began hosting the tournaments in 2001. The FLW ran a single event that was launched at Mooney Bay Marina. Mooney Bay Marina was the site of launching in 2002 and 2003.

Plattsburgh has become the place of choice for fishermen, drawing anglers from all over the world. This brings an enormous amount of revenue to the area.

Mr. Perry explained the humane method of catching and releasing the fish and the biological impact that has on the lake and the fish.

At least seven fishing tournaments are scheduled for 2007, and Rick Perry said that we can work together to promote the downtown businesses. President Chris Dominianni will meet with Perry at a later date to discuss further how to connect the downtown businesses.

The Snow Sculpting Workshop was cancelled due to warm weather, but they are trying to schedule a presentation at Plattsburgh State. They are looking for a $200 donation from the PDA to help finance this. Chris Dominianni said the Great Adirondack Soup Company would donate $50,comenting that this is the type of bridge the Downtown Association is meant to be.

A Cabin Fever Event will replace the Snow Sculpting. This will include a chili cook-off and music events throughout downtown. There will be five events at various locations throughout downtown and buttons will be sold for admission.

Tom Lavin of the Adirondack Regional Theater, suggested a 5K run and other family-oriented activities.

A motion to close was made by Sherry King and seconded by Chris Dominianni.
